Lexy's Senior Photos
Lexy's senior portrait session took place in the early evening at McMenamins Edgefield. I love this location... I've wandered throughout the Edgefield campus numerous since we've lived out here, and I'm always finding new places to shoot. With the ripe fruit trees, the awesome gardens and the beautiful vineyard, we're always bound to have picturesque backdrops.
Lexy is a senior at Clackamas High School and will be heading to Utah to attend college next fall. Have a great senior year, Lexy!

Rebecca and Erik
I met up with Rebecca and Erik for an engagement session at the Portland Temple in Oregon City. We had a great time taking photos around the beautiful garden area. They were a fun couple to work with and had a lot of great expressions for me to capture!
They'll be getting married at the Temple in late November, and hopefully the weather will be just as nice then as it was for their engagement session!

Leia and Seth
Leia and Seth's engagement session took place in the early evening in and around the EcoTrust building in downtown Portland.
There were a few days in the last couple of weeks that were extremely hot here, but on the day of the shoot it cooled down to a mild temperature... and it even rained a bit. Leia and Seth came prepared with fun umbrellas as props and great complementary clothing changes. They had creative ideas for personalized shots, and were really fun to work with.

Thanks, guys, for a great shoot. We'll see you in a few months!

The couple is getting married November 22nd in Oregon City and then we'll head down to Bend for the reception that evening. Their venue looks amazing - it will be a beautiful place to shoot a wedding reception.
Thanks, guys, for a great shoot. We'll see you in a few months!

Starting up in Portland
It seems like an appropriate time to start my photography blog. I've been meaning to do so for a while now but, since we moved from Chicago to Portland, my focus has been pretty mixed: web design, graphic design, and photography... But once again, I'm starting to focus more on portraiture, as well as wedding photojournalism. I'm passionate about this form of art, and I'm excited to share my adventures with you.
It's all a learning process, this thing called art. Some days my clients / subjects teach me much more than a book is ever able to. Other days, all I want to do is be inspired by fellow photographers. Most of the time, though, I find that art is all about finding true beauty. And my search for this is what inspires me.
Join me as I strive to capture beautiful moments that take place - in nature, in small children, in families, in engaged couples, in newlyweds. And don't worry, if I'm ever lacking new shots for any reason, just know I'll always have two cute models nearby: my beautiful wife and my little 2-foot toddler.
It's not all about the waterfalls. I promise.
